Sleep & Eat

From 19 to 20 November, Swiss bathroom specialist Laufen was exhibiting at Europe’s leading hospitality design event, Sleep + Eat at Olympia, London.

Nov. 18, 2019

Laufen returned to Sleep + Eat to showcase their latest innovations and capabilities within the hospitality sector. The brand was committed to providing a professional and consultative approach that focused on adding real value to hospitality projects. Laufen’s manufacturing expertise and inspiring collaborations enables them to take bathroom solutions within the hospitality sector to new and creative directions year on year.

NEW CLASSIC

The award-winning ‘New Classic’ collection is Laufen’s latest designer collaboration. Designed under the creative leadership of superstar Dutch designer Marcel Wanders whose relationship with Laufen has continued to evolve since the first collaboration on the luxurious bespoke project that Wanders designed for the 5-star Mondrian Doha hotel.

Now, the innovative ‘New Classic’ collection interprets classical styles using Laufen’s innovative SaphirKeramik to help create soft, gentle feminine curves, alongside angular, masculine elements. The result is a multi-dimensional, design masterpiece.

Every item included in the collection brings together the designer’s flair and creativity with Laufen’s mastery of raw materials. Oozing neoclassicism, New Classic maintains a consistent focus on indulgence, intimacy, humanity and everyday utility, whilst reflecting the poetry and romance of bygone times.

The range includes washstands, washbasin bowls, toilets, a bidet and bathtub, faucets, mirrors and accessories, as well as furniture and has already won the iF Design Award 2019 for its sensual combination of aesthetics and function.

SAVE!

First presented at ISH, Frankfurt earlier this year, Laufen’s innovative Save! waste-separating WC was on display at Sleep + Eat. This sustainable new product meets a little-known environmental problem of our time: the pollution of our water by nitrogen. The urine-separation WC Save!, designed by Austrian design studio EOOS, functions like a conventional flushing toilet and contributes to sustainable urban water management. The Save! urine-separating WC is the next step in a concept developed by EOOS with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as part of the ‘Reinvent the Toilet Challenge’.

This ground-breaking innovation is set to revolutionize the sanitary industry and relieve pressure on the existing wastewater infrastructure in fast-growing cities all over the world.

CLEANET NAVIA

Other highlights showcased on the stand include Laufen’s compact yet innovative Cleanet Navia shower toilet, designed by Peter Wirz. Its simple, intuitive functions focus on the core benefits of toilet hygiene with water, and a price tag that makes the added hygiene accessible to a wider range of buyers. Laufen has retained the customary, intuitive operating concept with a side-mounted rotary button for standard functions and an app for an extended range of functions for its new shower toilet.

NEW COLOURED BRASSWARE

Laufen will also be showcasing a new range of PVD brassware, which will be additions to the existing, successful Val and Kartell by Laufen brassware ranges. The new products offer architectural solutions to ensure a wide choice of brassware options for the hospitality market.

Laufen’s International Team will be on stand L10 to welcome visitors and share their inspiring collections and latest innovations, which are enhancing hospitality projects round the world.
